Committees

The success of our alumni association is highly dependent on active participation in our working committees.  Learn more about these and email us at gccalumn@gmail.com to volunteer to work with us in any capacity.
8.6.1

Fellowship Committee

The Fellowship Committee will facilitate opportunities for all ages and groups within association to get to know each other, experience our common bond, shared faith, and the work done for Jesus Christ.  To this end, the committee will both maintain existing and create new events, large and small, to provide those opportunities.

The committee will encourage personal relationships and promote membership involvement in such a way that all included in the work of the association.

Committee Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Fellowship Activities.
  • Organize special events as requested by the Director or other committees.
  • Identify needs and opportunities for new events.
  • Determine requirements for activities: space, supplies, food, and publicity.
  • Maintain an ongoing file and keep accurate records of all meetings where this committee votes upon policies and procedures affecting the operation of the association.
  • Report quarterly to Alumni Leadership.

The Fellowship Committee will be responsible for planning and implementing  Alumni activities where "2 or more people gather" in the name of the association, including:

Work Weekends, Fellowship & Fun Days, 5K's, etc.

President, VP and Secretary are de-facto members of this committee.

8.6.1

Stewardship Committee

The purpose of the Stewardship Committee is to recommend to the alumni and GCC an overall stewardship plan by developing an understanding of and commitment to the biblical teachings of stewardship.

It is also responsible for the financial affairs of the alumni association.

Committee Responsibilities:

  • Recommend an annual budget to the association
  • Assess periodically the alumni association's financial condition and make recommendations.
  • Discover ways to promote education of and commitment to, the biblical teachings of stewardship and recommend specific activities for an annual calendar of stewardship.
  • Promote financial stewardship among members of the association.
  • Maintain an ongoing file and keep accurate records of all meetings where this committee votes upon policies and procedures affecting the operation of the association.
  • Report quarterly to Alumni Leadership

The Stewardship Committee will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing  Alumni fund raising activities, providing administrative guidance on fund availability for other Alumni activities, and ensuring that the Association can continue supporting GCC and our mission

President and treasurer are de-facto members of this committee.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for supporting the mission, vision, and purpose of the Alumni Association.

Committee responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other committees, leadership, and members on key strategies, challenges, and needs in order to provide insight on membership recruitment, engagement and retention. 
  • Assess and recommend products, services, and programs that will add value to the membership.
  • Attend 80% of all committee meetings (majority are conference calls).
  • Provide input/suggestions to expand/ improve services and add value to membership.
  • Provide input/suggestions on how to increase membership to further support Alumni Activities.
  • Work with camp and alumni leadership in assisting with membership issues or initiatives.
  • Actively recruit new members and promote and encourage participation in the GCC Alumni Association.

  • Follow up with any potential members you contact to address questions, provide additional information, and help facilitate their joining of the association.

  • Assess membership needs through instruments such as surveys and questionnaires or other methods, and communicate the members needs to Alumni and camp leadership.

  • Report quarterly to Alumni Leadership.

President and decade representatives are de-facto members of this committee.
